AWWE Rules &
Regulations
|
Most things are OK in The AWWE,
however we do have one or two rules and general pieces of advice
which we advise you read, especially since we differ a little from
the majority of e-feds. |
Rules
- This is a created (or "fake") wrester fed only.
- Swearing, blasphemy, questioning other wrestler's parentage
and so on are allowed in roleplays. However, the RP board
automatically censors some words, so you might have to find a
way round it.
- Wrestlers are encouraged to RP frequently. If you have a match
you must roleplay. However, we understand that its not always
possible to do a roleplay, but please let us know if you will be
unable to participate at any time.
- There is no set minimum or maximum size for roleplays.
- The deadline for the roleplays is the day before the event is
due to be posted
- No one may use a wrestler that they don't handle in a roleplay
without recieving permission in advance from the person who
handles who is being used. This also applies to the President
and Commisioner.
|
Hints
& Tips
- Please refrain from changing a match that has been booked. If
you would like anything altered or a stipulation added please
contact the President or Commisioner furst.
- Please try and focus on one event at a
time, and concentrate on beating whoever you are fighting this
week before you start making threats for next week.
- One of the most important factors in The
AWW is angles, so please try and get involved in some.
- Get out more - a worryingly large number of wrestlers seem to
be hanging around the arena on a daily basis, and seem to bring
their own crowds with you too. May I take this opportunity to
remind you that while you are welcome to drop by the arena at
any time to use the training facilities or speak to senior
staff, we only have one live event a week?
On all days apart from event days there isn't a crowd here.
Interviews can,
and should, be conducted outside of the arena.
- Should you wish to do an In-ring promo, or backstage segment,
these can be done and included in the results. Please email
your segment to us and we'll do our best to include it.

Above all, remember that E-Feds are meant to be fun.
Should anyone have any more questions, just ask.

AWWE FAQ
What is the AWWE?
The AWWE began life as the AWW, the official E-Fed of the usenet
newsgroup alt.wrestling.wwf, but has grown to become one of the most
unique feds on the Internet. Where else can you find a Commissioner
who is an inflatable sheep? Where else will you be booked in a match
against a brown paper bag? Nowhere but the AWWE. Unless people have
been stealing our ideas, or you have a time machine to go back to
the original AWW E-fed of course, in that case, The Kurgan would
like to ask you nicely to give him the time drive back, and to not
borrow it again.
|
What style does the AWWE use?
There are no guidelines on how to roleplay, other than what is
described in the rules. All I ask is that your roleplay be
understandable. Try to avoid simple spelling and grammar errors, as
these makes your roleplays difficult to read & understand. Most
importantly of all, read the rules!
|
How are matches decided?
AWWE is, as e-wrestling should be, a booked e-fed. As with most
feds, there are a few factors that decide if you'll win or lose, and
they all have varying degrees of importance. They are:
1. Roleplays
2. In-Rings/On-Show Segments
3. Angles/Heat
Roleplays.
This really is the key to e-wrestling, the thing that makes
e-wrestling so. This is your chance to put your character across:
what's he thinking? what's he doing? what's he feeling? what's he
planning? is it his round? The better you put him across here, the
better everyone in the fed understands him, the more heat he gets,
the more successful he becomes. As a rule, the best Roleplayers are
the ones who do best in e-wrestling, but two other factors also play
a big role.
In-Rings/On-Show Segments
A good way to get any extra points across from your character is to
do an in-ring, or a backstage segment for the show. It shows extra
effort, and it goes towards making the show more enjoyable and a
better read for everyone. However, it is worth noting that these
aren't necessary, and a pointless segment designed just to curry
favor won't work. Sorry.
Angles/Heat
Angles are the lifeblood of wrestling, both e and "real".
A well worked angle can see a character shoot way up the card and
into title contention. AWWE actively encourages handlers to talk to
other handlers in order to create angles, which add to the whole
atmosphere of the show.

What shows does AWWE run?
AWWE Revolution
The main show of AWWe, our equivalent of Raw. It should feature
well-written matches, angle work, and anything else that you might
expect to see on a wrestling show. In reality it is often late, but,
hey, it gets there eventually
PPVs
This is what all of your work builds up to, the big extravaganzas
that occur every 4/5 times a year (depending on how things go
along). Here, we are looking at amazing matches, explosive blow-offs
to feuds, top-line clashes, and everything else you'd expect from a
PPV.

Who's who in AWWE?
President : Taffy
Commissioner : Flossie the inflatable sheep
Announce Team : Steve 'Diamond' White and Darren 'Ruby'

What titles does AWWE recognise?
World Title
The major title in the federation. This is the biggest honor for any
wrestler in the federation, usually gained by hard work and
resilience. Has however been gained by screwjobs involving a former
co-president and a Panda costume.
European Title
The federation's secondary title, not as prestigious as the World
title, but still a major accomplishment.
Vague Title
The only title of its kind in all of Wrestling. No one is ever
entirely sure what goes on in a Vague Rules match, but they are
pretty unusual to say the least. This is the hardest title in the
AWWE to defend, but probably the easiest to win, due to the Vague
nature of the matches used to decide its Champion.
Bar Room Brawl Title
Formerly the Pub Fight Title, before that the Hardcore Title. won
and lost in Hardcore matches in the AWWE bar, hence why it's called
the Bar Room Brawl Title. Need I say any more?
Tag Team Titles
Self explanatory really, isn't it?
Faroe Islands Title
The AWWE equivalent of a Cruiserweight or light-Heavyweight Title,
this belt can be contested by any member of the roster who weighs
under 230lbs. Arguably the second most prestigious belt in the AWWE,
usually argued by the holder of the Faroe Islands Belt, and usually
denied by the holders of the European Title, the Vague Title, the
Bar Room Brawl Title, and the Tag Team Titles.

How much do I need to participate in AWWE?
Really you should roleplay as often as possible. Failing to
roleplay when you have a match guarantees defeat.
I understand that, in some weeks, you may be unable to roleplay for
whatever reason. However, if this is going to be so, I'd appreciate
you telling me so in advance. Wrestlers who never roleplay just take
up valuable roster space. Failure to roleplay will result in your
character being publicly humiliated, and very probably having acts
of violence carried out on them.

What limits are there on Roleplays?
Not the normal ones:
a) Swearing is allowed. I do however recommend it isn't used
profusely, as that just makes you look like a bit of an idiot.
Despite what you may have heard, swearing is indeed both big &
clever, just like smoking is. However, much like smoking through a
hole in your throat is going a bit too far, and is no longer cool,
so is swearing just for the sake of it. And if you can't understand
that, then you are a fuckwit.
b) Racism, while not strictly banned, isn't a good idea. When used
correctly it can be entertaining, but finding a way to use it
correctly is like finding a way to ram a wasps nest up your own anus
correctly.
c) Questioning the sexuality of other wrestlers is not in any way
discouraged, in fact, it is encouraged more than anything. The same
advice applies to this as to swearing though. Don't use it too much,
or quite frankly, you'll just look a bit pathetic.
c) Don't use other people's characters without their prior
permission. This includes the President, the Commissioner, and other
peoples managers & entourage. Interviewers obviously can be used,
if there are any in the fed you want to use, use them, or, create
your own if you feel like it.
For a full explanation check out the rules, but, to get this far,
you will have passed the rules, so you probably read them there

Booking policy
Everyone paying attention? Good, because this is important.
YOU WILL LOSE!!
If you want to come in with a Goldberg style character, who never
loses, or you want to win a title in your debut match, I only have
one thing to say...
..Fat chance.
If you can't handle the idea of losing a match, or you feel that
it would be a personal insult if you did anything less than win the
World Title in a squash for your first match, do not fill out an
application. We DO NOT want a major
headache because someone lost a match. This is the part about being
a fedhead that we hate the most. Can't we all just get along?
Just think of the federation as a big soap opera. The people who
have the best story-line going on get the most airtime on the show.
Those who don't, don't get very much time. So, the people who have
the best angles, and role-plays, will get the airtime, in other
words, win. So, write like (Add favorite author here, in my case,
Terry Pratchett), and you should be all right!
There are two sure fire ways to ensure that you DO
lose as many of your matches as possible:
1. Complain about losing, in Email, on the OOC Board, on MSN and so
on. Moan to me about losing and you'd better prepare to do a lot
more of it.
2. Submit an angle to me that states "Let me win the
title", even though I covered this just a few lines up. Umm,
no. I don't think so, if there is an angle that asks this, then
prepare to job.

How do I join?
If, after reading the Rules And FAQ page, you decide that the AWWE
sounds groovy, then either fill out an application form, or send the
prez an e-mail.
After reviewing your application, we will get back to you as soon as
possible.

Applications
Your application is, unsurprisingly, the key to getting employed
in AWWE. The better the application, the more likely you are to be
accepted in the fed.
For most handlers, all I have to go on gauging how useful you will
be to the fed is this application, so it is vital that you take time
and care in filling it in.
In order to make the application as easy to fill in as possible
there are explanations and hints throughout it. Do us all a a favor
and read them.
If there is anything else you would like to let me know that isn't
included in the application, for example your history as an
e-wrestlers, what titles you have won and where, and so on, then
please feel free to Email
this information to me. Also, if you have any other problems with
filling out the form, or have any questions to ask that aren't
covered in the rules or FAQ, then don't hesitate to contact me.
